What is the Testing Procedure?
What Do I Get at the End of the Test?
Based on the data we get we will be able to give you guidance on how well you move, or what are your areas of strength, weakness, tightness or impairment across the following joint complexes:
- Neck/Head
- Shoulders
- Thoracic Spine
- Lumbar Spine
- Hips
- Knees
- Ankle
We will then give you up to 3 strength areas of focus and 3 flexibility areas of focus to work on.

Who is a Functional Movement Assessment For?
Our modern lifestyles put us at huge risk of patterns of tightness and weakness. This means that often people starting a new fitness routine may sometimes find that they get injured, trying to do movements their body is not capable of.
The movement screen will identify a selection of these, and so it is great for anyone starting a new fitness routine, or indeed, anyone who is conducting a fitness routine without having spent much thought in how well they are moving.
What equipment is used for the test?
We use a set of Forcedecks – these are high-precision pressure plates which can measure the force going through them. From jumping tests, to how much you move when standing on one leg, it can measure and quantify power output, force production, imbalances and much more.
We also use a Movement Dynamo. This equipment can measure pulling or pushing force, and also can measure how much it moves through space. We can measure for example that you can turn your head 80degrees to the left, but 92degrees to the right, thus an imbalance that might indicate tightness in the neck or upper back.
It can also measure Grip strength, which is one of the key metrics used to assess overall strength and function.
How Much Does a Functional Movement Assessment Cost?
We keep our pricing as easy to understand as possible. For a full schedule of prices for all tests/scans and memberships, please click here
Who Can Take a Functional Movement Assessment?
Anyone can take a functional movement assessment. We will ask you to declare any injuries or patterns of pain, so we can either test these, or avoid them.
